As with any gravity-defying project, we need cash. We need to pay off our vendors, rebuild a couple valves, jet fuel, flying-pig insurance, general pampering of the porcine, etc, as well as get her settled in to her “forever home”. Help this pig fly- really!
I was bummed to see her go.
But you had said to expect the de-installation, so I was not surprised.
Since moving downtown, I’d drive past her every day on the way in and the way out of town. I was amazed at how many times, just in the last 3 months, i’ve seen people taking pictures, pointing, admiring, questioning, etc.
Maybe tourists, maybe locals, maybe even people inspired by such a unique piece of art. Either way… I think it had a far more positive effect on the community at large, than negative. Kudos to you and your team for sharing nearly a years with of “artful pork” with our fine city.

Parsifal has been sprayed with Rhino Lining® and finished with a premium exterior grade paint with a polyurethane coating that should make the piece relatively maintenance free for many years to come.

We are very, very excited to announce that our friends at Cirque Acirca will be performing along with the Gypsy Nomads at the B.O.B. on Saturday September 25th 4-5PM, next to SteamPig.
